We will be joined by guest Lil’wat singer and composer Russell Wallace as we premier two new choral arrangements commissioned by VCS: a new choral setting of his song Journey and Lil’wat Lullaby by his mother Flora Wallace. The program will also feature works by Ramona Luengen, Tamsin Jones, JS Bach, Jaako Mäntyjärvi, Zoltan Kodály, and Gabriel Fauré.

Reflection

May 3, 2025
Pacific Spirit United Church

Taking time to reflect is an important part of life’s journey.  Whether gaining wisdom as we grow, or consolation as we love, the questions around loss and light are worthy of contemplation.  Memories themselves can be woven with the fabric of both joy and sorrow.  Join the Vancouver Cantata Singers for their final concert of the 24/25 season JOURNEY as they reminisce and revere a few special moments and people in the choir’s history in a program including Johann Bach’s Unser Leben ist ein Schatten and Clytus Gottwald’s setting of Mahler’s Im Abendrot.
